Hi, I'm Elizabeth. I'm from Canada and I am a passionate basketball fan and player, with a deep appreciation for the game and its legends. I love sharing my knowledge and passion for the sport with others. I also play on school and club teams.
Our team after winning the championship this season.
I play shooting guard and point guard and have been playing basketball for 5 years, but I started being a fan when I was 6.
I love my teammates and the relationships I've fostered throughout my basketball journey. I also love the rush and excitement on the court, and I love the post-game pics and food and the pre-game TikToks. Lol, we love dancing on our team. This last season was really competitive, and we actually won the championship in our league!
My favorite player is Stephen Curry because he was the first NBA player I watched play when I was a kid and I've been a huge fan ever since.
I started playing basketball seriously when I was 11 years old. My first memory of playing was when I was in grade 6 and my physical education teacher encouraged me to join the team. And I did! I was not the best, but I improved over time by spending my summers at the park practicing. I became more confident and skilled.
My best game was actually this year when we played against Dakota Collegiate for the championship. It was a packed game, and the score was 45 us to 43 them with 1:10 seconds left on the shot clock. We were slowing down our offense but tightening our defense. The crowd was intense. After the star player on the opposing team fouled out, they called a timeout and we were happy. Then, towards the last 30 seconds, some girl took a 3 and it almost went in, but luckily it spun right out. Then we got possession and just dribbled until the buzzer, and we won! It was the most intense game I've ever played, but at least we ended the season on a high note and brought the trophy to our school.
Our 2025 championship team after winning the final game.
I played for the school team, grade 9 girls, because we had no JV team. My teammates are like the best friends I could ask for. They are all fun, energetic, all-round great people, and they are supportive. We all help each other improve on our weak skills. We also love making TikTok dances before our gamesβat times, not always. We are serious haha, but before practices, and we always bring snacks and food. But I really love all of them, and I hope we all make the team next year.
Basketball has taught me discipline, teamwork, perseverance, and so much more.
This season I want to make varsity, improve my shooting and ball handling skills.
In the future, I hope to maybe play in college and coach later on .
Right now I'm practicing improving my shooting and ball handling skills.
I stay motivated by watching highlights, listening to music, and training with friends.
Music I listen to before games π₯
